On May Day 2013 my friend Tess and I organized a race around the city called The Amazing Race: Basel. It was based off the American TV series: The Amazing Race. It was a scavenger hunt with challenges intermixed between clues. Each pair set off in the early morning to win the coveted first place win. One of their challenges was inspired by the Swiss; package your paper recycling into perfectly bound stacks. Another was to create a floating device that would carry an object for 1 min in the Tinguely Fountain. All the teams seemed to have a lot of fun, and the planning part was really fun too.
We hope to have our second event this coming May 2014, and maybe more people will join this year. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from the day because of the hectic prepping and officiating, but you can check out some photos from my friend's blog here.
